Description
Original artwork - 8" x 12" colored pencil on white Canson paper. The second piece from my Flying Dream Series, this is a relatively quick, sketchy, rough rendering of a design inspired by another of my many dreams. I am always enthralled by flying dreams - I wish I could have more of them. This one, in particular, was very vivid. This is just a snapshot of a longer flight which began with a departure from a large, dark mansion out into a night illuminated by a single, brilliant, area specific spotlight (I say spotlight because I knew it was neither sun nor moon but more as if it was staged). Flying down slope to the sea, I actually make it out to the light's border, just beneath where the clouds hover above the sea. Banking hard, I circle out from under the cloudy darkness and back to the illuminated island. The whole scene is brilliant green and blue and resembles, most closely, a scale model landscape. It was quite vivid and I flew as nimbly as a darting sparrow. I hope you like it! :)
